On 29th November we bidded farewell for now to our cafe worker Ashlee as she heads off on maternity leave. We wish her all the best and look forward to meeting her little bundle of joy next year 🙂

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

🎅 Breakfast with Santa 🎅

Our Breakfast with Santa event was held on Saturday 7th December and what a great day was had by all.

We owe thanks to Theresa Irving for helping us apply to the Western Isles Lifestyle Lottery fund which granted us £500 to put towards Christmas presents so thank you very much Theresa and Western Isles Lifestyle Lottery!

This event could not have gone ahead without the help of each and every one of our volunteers, we are so so grateful for the time and effort you all put in so thank you all so very much. There are too many of you to name and I’m worried I’ll miss someone out but you all know who you are!! ❤️

A big shout out to the fantastic pancake makers Jannette and Liz, the pancakes were delicious – thank you both 😃

And not to forget our fabulous Santa, thank you for giving up your time and being such a great sport! 🎅

£291.78 was raised which will go towards Bobby’s wheelchair fund and the winner of the raffle was Neil Ferguson! 🌿 Garland Classes 🌿

The 1st garland class of the year was a great success again on Wednesday 11th December.

We made them up with greenery, cones & seed heads from the Garadh & donations from the kind gardeners of Barra 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

❄️ Winter Messy Play Sessions ⛄️

Thanks to all those who attended sessions in 2024, we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did! And look forward to more messy fun in 2025 🎉 so very grateful to the Barra Children’s Centre for funding these sessions and making a great partnership with the Garadh ✨

A massive thanks to Scott McMinn for the singing session which was thoroughly enjoyed and we hope to have him come along to another session in the near future 🎸

Also thanks to Steve & Kenny for taking the fire engine down for our fire week, not sure who had more fun was it the volunteers or kids 🤣

🥧 Mince pie & mulled wine evening for staff & volunteers 🍷

This took place in our last working day of 2024 – Friday 20th December. There was a great turn out from our fabulous team of staff and volunteers and a lovely evening was had by all. An evening of chat, laughs and carol singing to put everyone in the festive spirit 🙂
